Kim Jones may not be someone you know by name, but you sure as hell will know his work. Do the words Supreme x Louis Vuitton collab ring a bell? Or perhaps you remember the Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell reunion on the Louis Vuitton runway at Men's Fashion Week earlier this year? Both iconic events occurred under the creative eye of Jones during his time as artistic director at Louis Vuitton menswear. Just 24 hours prior to the Kate and Naomi reunion, it was announced that Jones would be parting ways with Louis Vuitton. While speculation at the time stated that Jones could perhaps take Christopher Bailey's former role as chief creative officer at Burberry, this was debunked when ex-Givenvchy designer Riccardo Tisci took the role.

And now fashion's game of musical chairs continues with the announcement today that Kris Van Ashe has stepped down from his role as artistic director at Dior Homme, and Kim Jones has sashayed right into his place. The appointment of Jones is the first big move by Pietro Beccari, the newly installed chairman and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, who joined the brand in February.

"I am delighted to welcome Kim Jones at Dior Homme. He will benefit from the support of the teams and from the 'savoir-faire' of the Ateliers to create an elegant men's wardrobe both classic and anchored in contemporary culture. I am confident that he will continue to further develop Dior Homme on a global scale," said Beccari. "I thank Kris Van Assche for contributing to the amazing growth of Dior Homme by creating an elegant and contemporary silhouette for men. He wrote an important chapter in the history of Dior Homme and played a key role in its development."

"I am deeply honoured to join the house of Dior, a symbol of the ultimate elegance," said Jones. "I would like to warmly thank Bernard Arnault and Pietro Beccari for their trust in giving me this incredible opportunity. I am committed to create a modern and innovative male silhouette built upon the unique legacy of the house."

Time will tell what contemporary spin Jones will put on Dior Homme - we're not sure how you can beat that Supreme collaboration though.
