It's been a big year for part celebrity, part designer and serial collaborator, Virgil Abloh. In 2017 alone the creative picked up British Fashion Council's Urban Luxe Brand Award for his fashion label Off-White, scored GQ Australia's Designer of the Year award, among working with Nike, Ikea, Planned Parenthood and Guns N' Roses on sell-out collaborations. It's no wonder hundreds of young aspiring creatives lined up for hours to get a 'Virgil Abloh' scribble pasted across their own issue of the latest System magazine, of which Abloh fronts the cover.

"The best thing about doing the System project was having blank pages to fill up with ideas, and just weaving a narrative in between fashion, architecture, furniture - all with a youth spirit in mind," Abloh explained in an exclusive interview for Buro 24/7. "Now is the most fertile time to be ambitious."

Buro 24/7 gained exclusive access to the designer/creative collaborator/fashion game-changer following the public book signing of System magazinge in London. Check out the candid interview below.

System magazine is an editorial partner of Buro 24/7.
